In addition to the Net MD Simple Burner CD dubbing application, Sony's Net MD Walkman players/recorders also come bundled with OpenMG Jukebox management software allows people to perform high-speed transfer- and editing-functions directly on the computer screen. Net MD users simply launch the application, and select the tracks they wish to transfer to the player. Net MD Walkmans also feature Sony's new Net MD Simple Burner CD dubbing application, which allows users to transfer music files from their CDs to MiniDisc - without having to first store the files on a hard drive. Music enthusiasts can combine and mix any audio file format, as well as title and edit the tracks to their preference.
Sony's Net MD players support a variety of audio formats including ATRAC3, MP3, WMA and WAV. With Net MD, users can record up to 80 minutes of music onto a MiniDisc in less than three minutes.
